Amanda Brugel
(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of different communities. Many who've never known about it may mistake it for an island that is west-facing. The West Island is frequently referred to as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that may be true, her time in the city was brief. Brugel developed on Courtice close to Oshawa within Ontario. Early ambitions were to become a dancer. However, a growth spurt caused her to outgrow her dance partners she had. In an article published in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. After I outgrew the male counterparts, I gave up. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance of her drama teacher at high school that led her in the direction she required. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to go after a role in the annual school production. She was able to audition and be cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 shows, smaller and large. One of the most memorable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel appeared only on rare instances in the initial season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the only Canadian actor.
